THE FUTURE SCREENWRITER'S RESOURCE GUIDE

THE BLACK LIST
The Black List’s website collects hundreds of unproduced screenplays. It works on a survey system: Hollywood executives read the submissions and scripts with the most "likes," or most votes, float to the top. At the end of every year, these top scripts become that year’s respective Black List, or Hollywood’s list of favorite unproduced screenplays. Close to a third of these screenplays have been made into motion pictures since the Black List’s inception in 2005. These adaptations include Argo, Juno, The King’s Speech, Slumdog Millionaire, The Revenant, Spotlight, and Hell or High Water. If you have confidence in your script, submitting it to the Black List is a good idea. It may get you noticed by producers, and even if they don’t choose to produce it, this site serves as a great way for screenwriters to network with people in the film industry.
